About

WORK, WHY, HOW

Formed in or around 2004, CreatureKind.com, LLC a consultancy that produces information ecology, cultivates narrative, builds interaction platforms, scales innovative habitat and generates investment. Why the name CreatureKind? As a reflection of ecosystems that work in harmony. Communication or narrative, when successful, bridge understanding, appear effortless and invite inclusion. CreatureKind honors the entirety of community, actualizing the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Becoming the change in the world, we want to see. As a communication professional working across communication verticals, an intentional practicum of practitioner immersion, cross-disciplinary, cross-silo, organic ethnography. Traversing fields of film & video production; digital and branding agency assignment; voice and fax software development in a corporate setting; progressive and electoral program efficacy, NGO evaluation in support of democracy and voter activation and representation; university based institute fellowship to research, qualify and deploy a mechanism to support transitioning industry of news; facilitation of White House, embassy and business leaders meeting with President Obama in Asia; startup advisor, trainer, mentor. On assignment, or in roles guiding program delivery, or evaluation vetting practices and optimization.

All points of context, threading what together makes whole, a greater understanding. Developing a process I call responsive engagement design. An emerging field, in its infancy with the potential to harness the power of insight, feedback, influencer marketing, resilience, civic integrity, science, civility and source. A kind of photosynthesis where multiple modes of communication like sunlight, convert energy, conversation, expertise and intention – to meet people where they are. Brands, business, campaigns, or communities made stronger when the customer, public or citizen served guides delivery with a seat at the table and voice made visible. Consistent across landscapes, cultures and markets. Creatures relate when they see themselves in the products, systems or services created for their benefit. This process a life cycle of discovery, connection, reflection, attention and expression.

ME, US, WE

A Seattle, Washington native, Lisa Skube is principal of Creaturekind.com. A photographer, blueberry farmer, amateur chef, athlete, black coffee drinker, conversationalist and adventurer. Raised in the Puget Sound, off the inland oasis of Alki Beach and Hood Canal, surrounded by the Northern Cascades, the Olympic Mountains, forests, streams, lakes, 152 rainy days a year, Pike Place Market and a diverse transportation system. In Seattle’s blend of mobility; waterways, motorways, byways, bikeways, shoreline and pathways intermingle and inspire. Where beach fires are legal and the path less traveled, inevitable. Traveling the world by way of mountains, trails, training facilities, fine dining food service & the kindness of sponsors. Seeing the world as an athlete early in life, shaped by invitation to participate in a first of its kind US/USSR/Canadian athletic exchange. Life as a US NorAm skier, humbled to compete in Russian’s first world freestyle skiing competition. Lewis & Clark College guided a successful transition from mountain tops to academy with nice view of Mt Hood, critical inquiry infused. Best life preparation, ever. CreatureKind.com headquarters currently nested in the Willamette Valley, in Portland, Oregon.
